I grew up in Brockport, NY, near Rochester, which you may know as the home of Kodak, Xerox, Paychex, Wegmans, and Nick Tahou’s Garbage Plate. My ambition to become a music producer was inspired by following my friends’ bands in high school. The Music Industry program led me to SUNY College at Oneonta, where I enrolled in the Audio Arts Production minor when it was established. I immediately joined the Music Industry Club as a member of the Production Committee, was nominated to the Secretary position at the end of my first year, and I finished out my final year as chair of the Archives Department. I completed an internship at Saxon Recording in Rochester during the summer of 2004.
I graduated magna cum laude from Oneonta State in May 2005, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. During the autumn of 2007, I embarked on a road-trip to Seattle, WA, and I described my adventures in my blog. I volunteered at Blackfriars Theatre in the spring as the Sound Board Operator for The Wild Party, a new musical by Andrew Lippa, and as the Assistant Stage Manager for Misery, a thriller by Stephen King. At the moment, I reside in Palmyra, New York, to work a summer job.
The above photo of Jimmy Chamberlin and me was taken at the NAMM Show 2005. Check out his work with the Smashing Pumpkins and his solo project, the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex.
